Talyxian Biomes
Talyxian biomes (タリクシアン植生) are the colony which consists of many kinds of creatures classified under Talyxian species. Most of the naturally occurring community such as forests and watersides in the planet Tal corresponds to this realm.
They are totally different and contrastive organisms from creatures classified under Eltus species. Due to this, Eltus race people often refer to them as "alien biome" in colloquial language.
In this article, describes what is treated as "plant" customarily.
Summary
A wood in the Lower Magoe area, a location within the Talyxian Biome. Strange and alien Talyxian trees can be seen. The bark of red trees shows the vivid pink glitter through the reflection of sunlight.

For convenience, Talyxian species creatures considered "plants" are still treated as "plants" in the both of canon context and colloquial language, but biologically, they are very different and far from the definition of plants on the Earth and Eltus plants. In the classification of Talyxian species, the biological boundary between animal and plant are very ambiguous and complex, many of them cannot be defined strictly as "plants".
Many species of the Talyxian plant can move around like animals, and all of them do not have chlorophyll like Eltus plants, show strange and alien appearance which is occupied by reddish colors or grayish colors instead. As some examples; There are kinds which look like bodily organs such as animal's muscle, sinew, and internal organs, as well as kinds which look like sessile marine organisms similar to reefs, barnacles, sea anemones, sponges, and basket stars. Some species begin as the state similar to the plant, and when grown to some extent, completely turn into the form which can be said as an animal, and initiate activity as the second stage of their life.
The primary groups in Talyxian plants are divided into two broad groups:
- "Red" group which are composed of reddish colors such as red, pink, and purple.
- "Gray" group which are composed of grayish colors such as white, gray, and black.
Also, bluish colors also can be seen in both groups, as bluish purple or bluish gray.
Ecology
All of the plants classified under Talyxian species do not have chlorophyll like Eltus plants. But they can also obtain energy by photosynthesis, rock decomposition, and geothermal conversion. Like all other talyxians they cannot metabolize salt and upon eating a creature that contains salt, will excrete "hizomi-nonbon" to dispose of the consumed salt.
Most of the red group plants are aggressive and harmful to Eltus people and have potential unknown risk while they are often used for foods or material. In order to use them safely as material, people need to pass the process through which makes it salted to nullify their activity.
Gray group plants and bluish plants are comparatively harmless to people and having a static nature. They are easier to process or use as a material than red group plants.
In the deeper parts of the huge Talyxian vegetation such as the northernmost primitive forests and eastern forest such as Lower Magoe, some plants produce a strong miasma. This gas affects the mind which causes drunk-like inebriation to the Eltus races that encounter it. In these areas a breathing apparatus and perceptual filter equipment are necessary.
Relationship with people
Thought the forests and the creatures in it are mostly considered harmful to settlements and the Eltus people, things that are harmless to them are considered edible and hard parts are used as building materials. It is common for hardened felons to be used to try out new substances to check if they are edible or poisonous, they continue these tests until they die.
When people discovered that Talyxians could not metabolize salt, some settlements would disinfect water with salt and treat the land with light salt water to discourage them from trespassing.
Creatures and parts of them that are safe, beautiful and have a good fragrance are often sold for ornamental use. They can be processed into various items such as living goods, building materials, chemicals, and weapons. In the eastern part of Gold Ring, sphere-shaped fruits are cultivated from specific rocks and turned into fuel for lanterns. Most of these materials are disinfected with salt water before processing.

A place by the black swamp, located neighborhood of Lower Magoe. This place is a sightseeing spot, and there are accommodation facilities close to the swamp. There are sightseeing group because safety for traffic is secured if they avoid entering the forest.
A sergal is touching the mysterious and fluffy Talyxian organism or plant, which is similar in nature to Kef-Bassi.
