Mozuuk (タルのもずく Tal's Mozuku) is a Talyxian plant, with properties similar to a type of edible seaweed found on Earth, commonly used as a source of food in Japan called mozuku (もずく). Its counterpart of planet Tal, mozuuk is an edible Talyxian plant that grows on dry ground rather than underwater.

Note: this was previously known as "Kef's seaweed". Its name has been updated.

Biology

It has a similar appearance to both common grass and Earth seaweeds like cladosiphon okamuranus, and purple tones as common Talyxian plants that have no chlorophyll. It is classified as a talyxian species of plant, but is harmless to Eltus people.

In a natural state, it have no any nutritional value. But when it was dried and be aspirated as cigarette, it will give a good sleep aiding effects. See also: Kef-Bassi

Ecology

Wild mozuuk is incredibly durable, having a very high vitality and grows and spreads quickly. It can grow in places that are poor in nutrition and with little to no water, and can even grow in heavily salted places due to its natural resistance to salt.

It thrives even in areas that are barren deserts such as the Kef lands. In fact, mozuuk is the only ecological life can be found in the Kef areas. This particular variety is referred to as "Kef's mozuuk" by the Eltus people.

Use

As a food, mozuuk is popular and sought after by many people due to have a delightful crunchy texture, despite not having any nutritional value. In a natural state, it have a dried texture like common grass, but it will get tender and plump in texture if soaked in water. It is used for making a variety of foods, such as a filling in bread sandwiches.

Another famous way of use of this plant is the natural unprocessed plant from which Kef-Bassi is produced.
