Kef(ケフ) is a desert areas with a meaning called "nothing" or "blind alley" or "unlimited". The desert at the upper left on Tal's map is also Kef.
Any life that can be found on Kef areas is only the Kef's Seaweed. Additional ecological life is not present apart from Kef's Seaweed grows there. The Kef desert region is vast and inhospitable, leading to the region's name which means nothing, blind alley, or unlimited.
This area is used for a penal transportation, a criminal is exiled to depth of Kef desert with some foods and water that is for only several days. It's called as "Kef-Exile", this is one of heavy punishment for felonies.
