Regarding Black Lance (or the character referred to as such):

I had assumed that, as the story has evolved over time, at one point the Reono were simply replaced by the Southern Sergals completely as the force Rain was fighting, with Jakk having been written as a southern sergal during this time. In addition, I believe Jakk's bio from his chapter says that he had a relative named Black Lance that Rain killed. I'll ask Kiki about this to verify the character's name and origin and then make changes in the following days.
